As I’ve gotten older I’ve noticed so many seasonal changes from breakouts to dry skin, to skin that’s just too oily, you name it and it’s happened to me. SO, as the summer months are slowly drifting away I want to highlight some of my favorite products.
Burt’s Bees is something I keep handy year round but who knew the Nourishing Mango lip balm existed! Something else I didn’t know existed: chapped lips in the summer. With the perfect pop of summer, you can kiss those dry lips goodbye!
Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser is also a year round essential that I discovered this summer. Three of my girlfriends actually turned me on to this product- and I am forever grateful. Simply dab the cream on your eyelid/under-eye and use a cotton ball or gauze to wipe away all of your eye makeup. This stuff is magic people!
A long time favorite of mine and skin-saving grace is the Deep Down Detox Ultra Cleansing Mud Mask. I swear by this mask. It gets rid of my blemishes in just two days or less. Another mask a friend of mine showed me is the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask. Unlike the Formula 10.0.6 mask this is a peel. Be cautious around your eyes and eyebrows, as it is very strong. Don’t believe how strong it is? With patience I can pull it off in one piece! Truly the perfect summer mask as it empties your pores of impurities, dirt and grime leaving your skin feeling clean, detoxed and soft.
Pair either of those masks with Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment (not pictured) to amp up pore defense. Vitamin E Oil is also an acne eliminator. I use this when the spot starts to get dry or raised. You can also use Vitamin E Oil for dry skin and cuticles- works like a charm!
The Boscia Revitalizing Black Hydration Gel is the perfect base to add to your daily skin regimen. As soon as I put this on my face I instantly feel my skin firm with a cool rush of hydration. Like the luminizing mask, the gel is black in color but don’t fear this does not tint your skin whatsoever.
The Bliss Ingrown Eliminating Pads, although not for your face, these have become a staple. Ingrown hair erasers with the active ingredient witch hazel they are sure to soothe and smooth your bikini line post wax or shave. Don’t let the price turn you away they are definitely worth the investment.
A final summer fave, but not a skin product, is the Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy. I stocked up on six colors in fear that the rest of the world would catch on to this hidden gem. For me, I average about a week and a half until I notice any chipping. You have a base color and then a topcoat that is tough as nails. For under $15 you can have a manicure right at home in under 20 minutes!
Nothing is worse than fighting a breakout in the heat- you scrub your face until its dry in hopes that the blemish will magically disappear and then pile on the cover-up (which makes it worse) only to end up sweating it all off! Summer beauty regimens don’t have to be tricky. Just pay attention to the way your skin reacts to the change in temperature and humidity. I hope these products work just as well for your skin as they have for mine.
So tell me, what are some of your favorite skin products?
