First Weekend of Fall

Have you ever just wanted to be lazy all weekend and do absolutely nothing? Is that what you did? Well lucky for you my weekend was spent shopping, eating, and Netflix’ing so you can get a head start on your Fall plans.

First things first, let’s talk about fashion. Right now, I can’t get enough of textures like wool, cotton, suede, leather and bouclé. I like to think of these as the fabrics of the season. The Knit Poncho and Suede Skirt (each under $100) are from Lord & Taylor’s Design Lab.  The poncho is perfectly accented with fall colors and I pair it with the Mock-Neck Cropped Sweater (Forever 21) and Faux Suede Skirt. The Design Lab was created for free spirits and dream-big fashion lovers, Lord & Taylor quality for less and for me, this is everything I’ve ever wanted.

The two dresses have Fall written all over them. Both are loose fitting, shift dresses. The Faux Leather-Pocket Shift Dress is not sheer even though the color is light, added bonus: the little faux leather pocket! The modern Bouclé dress has an exposed back zipper which adds the perfect pop to its age old aesthetic. This dress is the perfect balance between formal wear and business casual- I plan on wearing it to the office, meetings, conferences, date night, you get my point it is pretty versatile. Each dress can be layered with a jacket and paired with your favorite booties to keep you warm when the weather cools down.

In other news, I watched an entire season of How To Get Away With Murder (if you haven’t seen it stop what you’re doing and watch the first episode now), pet some sheep, and lived off of ricotta filled pancakes and apple cider donuts all weekend. Time to detox.
